Agarwood is the resinous heartwood formed in infected trees of the evergreen Aquilaria and Gyrinops tree families, native to Southeast Asia. Agarwood oil also has the ability to relieve pain, calm nerves, and promote healthy sleep. One of the uses for this essential oud oil is as an ingredient in perfume. It’s described as having an utterly unique scent that can’t be compared to any other known perfume note, having a deep exotic, rich, sweet, warm, woodsy, honeyed tobacco, earthy aroma with animalistic musky undertones. The oud oil forms the basis of the legendary Arabian perfume known as Oud.
