Cornmint Essential Oil (also known as Japanese Peppermint) is a clear to pale yellow liquid. It has a strong, sharp minty scent due to its high menthol content. Due to this high menthol content, the oil may crystalize.

It is obtained by steam distillation of the flowering herb of Mentha Arvensis. The main chemical component of Mentha arvensis oil is Menthol. It is a colorless or pale yellow liquid. It contains 70% to 75% of L-menthol as its main constituent.

In the East, it is used to treat rheumatic pain, neuralgia, toothache, laryngitis, indigestion, colds, and bronchitis. In Chinese medicine, it is also employed for relieving earache, and treating tumors and some skin conditions. Aromatic Scent: A sharp, penetrating mint scent based on its high menthol content.
