Vetiver essential oil is derived through the steam distillation of the plant's roots. It has a strong initial aroma and is described as woody, smoky, earthy, herbaceous and spicy. Main component is khusimol along with other sesquiterpenoids.

Vetiver Essential Oil is derived from the aromatic roots of the Vetiveria zizanioides (Linn) Nash. botanical. Due to its grounding, sensuous, and deeply calming scent, Vetiver Essential Oil is also referred to as the “Oil of Tranquility” and “The Fragrance of the Soil.”

The resulting Vetiver Oil is thick and ranges in color from golden-brown to amber-brown to olive. It exudes a strong aroma that smells earthy, woody, and rich. Depending on its region of cultivation, Vetiver Oil may also have a sweet, smoky, or floral note.
